Application context
In hospitality, technology must be obvious from first use.
Guests should not read instructions or install an app. Everyday use needs a clearly labelled switch by the bathroom entrance or bedside. The clear state opens the room and shares light, while the frosted state separates functions.
Privacy is assessed after dark as well. Strong bathroom lighting may reveal a close silhouette on a frosted pane, so we review luminaires, user distance and the required discretion level. Smart glass is not solar shading or full blackout.

Evening light
We review lighting on both sides, especially strong backlighting behind a person. This establishes the real privacy level.

Does frosted glass provide complete privacy?
It obscures recognisable images, but strong backlighting at close range may reveal shadows. We assess discretion with the bathroom’s actual lighting.
Does the guest need an app?
No. The standard scenario uses a local switch; an app or automation may be added for hotel operations.
Can the glass work next to a shower?
Suitability depends on the complete construction, edge and connection protection and electrical requirements for that zone. It is confirmed in the design.
Classic or Segment for a hotel?
Classic is simplest when the whole pane works together. Segment makes sense when part should remain clear or the design needs several scenes.
