In selected healthcare back-of-house partitions, an active pane can change the relationship between observation and screening. Its role is always defined by the medical design, room function and complete build-up requirements.

Application context
This is an architectural and electrical element—not a medical device.
Active glass may support temporary screening or observation within a scope defined by the project team. It does not define clinical procedure, replace required safeguards or by itself confirm that the partition meets sanitary, fire, structural or acoustic requirements.
We therefore start with documentation and responsibilities. We define the pane’s function, power-failure state, authorised controls, glazing system, surface maintenance and power-supply access before confirming the solution.

Power-loss state
PDLC returns to frosted without power. The project team assesses the consequence and any need for backup power.
Maintenance and materials
Cleaning agents, frequency, fixing type and edge protection must be agreed for the particular zone.
Handover documentation
Control description, installation diagram, service access and staff responsibility are handed over within the agreed scope.

Does DGF qualify glass for an operating room?
DGF assesses delivery of the active function within the agreed construction. Suitability and compliance of the complete partition are confirmed by the responsible designers and facility team.
Can the frosted state support privacy?
Yes, it obscures recognisable images, but required discretion, lighting and sightlines must be assessed for the specific zone.
Who controls the glass?
Roles and permissions are set by the user and project. Controls are placed for designated staff and documented.
At what stage should DGF be involved?
During partition and services design, before panes are ordered, ceilings closed and final details approved.
