Evidence rather than decoration

A portfolio should show more than an effect. It should support a sound decision.

Switching from clear to frosted takes a moment, but a good installation begins much earlier. It requires a defined function, final dimensions, glazing construction, cable-exit direction, power-supply location and control method. Each project therefore identifies its context and key design decision.

The videos record real glass in real lighting. They are not a promise of an identical result in every interior—perceived transparency, colour and privacy depend on area, light, viewing direction and surroundings. The material supports informed comparison; each solution is confirmed for its project.

A room that stays open day to day and private during a meeting.

A large pane keeps the meeting room visually connected to the office, then screens views of the table, display and participants. The priorities were simple local operation and concealed installation that preserves the clean partition line.

Brief: Temporary screening for the room without permanently closing the glazed space.
Solution: A full active pane with local control and installation concealed within the partition system.
Important boundary: The frosted state screens images; acoustics and display lighting are designed separately.

One wall with several independent privacy zones.

Zoning changes selected parts of the glazing rather than screening the whole surface. The layout is defined before manufacture and aligned with framing, eye level and daily room use.

An active pane within a visually light barrier.

Switching changes views between levels without replacing safety design. Glazing type, fixings and loads come from the complete structure, while wiring and the active function are precisely coordinated with it.

Bathroom / private zone

A light-filled bathroom without a permanent screen.

The clear pane opens the interior visually, while the frosted state creates temporary screening. Design requires checks of evening light, moisture, edge protection and power access—especially when users stand close to the glass.

Office privacy available at the entrance.

A local switch changes the pane without an app or extra steps. In moving elements, hardware, a safe cable route, opening direction and service access are critical, so glass must be coordinated before the door is ordered.

An active surface as part of a display.

Switchable glass can change a product backdrop, reveal an exhibit or create an event scene. The effect must be tested with actual lighting and viewing direction, while controls remain with authorised staff.

A sample or test rig allows both states, edge visibility, cable direction and material behaviour to be assessed under representative light. The variant is confirmed on physical material, not only from a photo or description.

Colour assessed in both states and real light.

Active samples show that colour perception changes with transparency, surroundings and light. DGF Colour is therefore selected using physical material viewed next to proposed finishes, not a small on-screen swatch.

Production / quality control

The active layer becomes part of the finished pane.

Manufacture combines glass, the active layer, lamination and precise cable exit into one engineered element. Checks cover operation, surface, edges and approved orientation before the pane proceeds to installation.

The switching effect is the end of the process, not the beginning.

Behind a clean pane are four responsibilities that must be coordinated before manufacture.

FAQ

From inspiration to a real enquiry.

Will the result be identical in my interior?

That should not be assumed. Perception depends on area, lighting, viewing direction, surrounding materials and user distance. The variant is confirmed before manufacture and a sample can be reviewed where needed.

Does DGF only deliver large projects?

No. The scope can be one bathroom or office pane, a series of office partitions or a repeated solution. Feasibility and scope are assessed from dimensions, construction and installation.

What should I send for an initial quotation?

A photo or visualisation, indicative dimensions, frame or joinery information, required privacy, preferred controls and project stage are most useful.

Can a sample be reviewed before ordering?

Yes. The presentation method is selected for the project. Samples are especially important for colour variants, demanding lighting and expectations for views in both states.
